How To Make The Most Of Your Next Adventure IO Experience

Adventure IO experiences are unique outdoor Adventures guided by elite action sports athletes and expert guides. Each Adventure can be held privately as a one-on-one session or enjoyed with a group of friends.

Adventure IO guides introduce users to locations and activities they wouldn’t easily be able to access on their own. They’ve taken users shark diving in Florida, rock climbing near the beaches of Malibu, road-tripping from Seattle to Salt Lake City, and recreated the surf experiences seen in the Endless Summer movie.

Our guides handle building out the itinerary and providing the necessary equipment. They also offer:

  1. Multi-day itineraries: Overnight trips spanning two or more days

  2. Unique access: Adventures take place in amazing locations, away from the crowded hot spots, in areas users may not have easy access to.

  3. Fully hosted: Guides provide top-of-the-line equipment, training and content capturing.

As you can see, guides handle the majority of the Adventure logistics; however, it’s essential that you come prepared for the experience you’re soon to embark on. To prepare appropriately, we recommend you carefully review the itinerary and communicate with your guide through the app during the days leading up to your Adventure.

Though it sounds like common sense, wearing the appropriate attire is crucial to making the most of your experience. Did you book a water sports Adventure with Payton Miller? Don’t show up in jeans and work boots expecting your guide to have a spare swimsuit for you. Bring your own, bring a towel and don’t forget the sunscreen (no one likes looking like a lobster). Hitting the slopes with our friends at SNO-GO? Don’t forget to pack proper snow attire and a comfortable beanie to keep your noggin warm.

Equally as important is arriving at your Adventure location on time. Always double-check the start time and spend a few minutes going over the route you’ll take to the destination. If you’re driving, you’ll want to map out the main path with alternative options also planned so you’re not stuck in traffic freaking out about being late. This is even more important if you’re flying to your guide’s location. If that’s the case, plan your drive to and from the airport. The last thing you want to happen is showing up late to the terminal only to see your flight has already left.

Lastly, get yourself motivated before it’s time to head out. Taking a private surf session with Jamie Sterling? Watch a few of his surfing videos and get a sense of just how skilled he is on the board. Not only will this reassure you he’s the perfect guide to learn from, but it’ll inspire you to go out on the water and catch your first wave, no matter how hard it seems at first. If you come into the Adventure with a positive attitude and willingness to learn, you’re guaranteed to have the time of your life.
